TRAVEL GUIDE: LAS VEGAS

February 19, 2018

This was my first official time being 21 is Vegas and you bet it did not disappoint! We laughed about it being a trip for my half birthday, but really I we were just tagging along with some family. Tons of people asked while we were there what we did, where we ate, who we saw, and I wanted to answer your burning questions!

 Shopping:

Chanel:

A huge surprise for my mom was getting her first Chanel bag. She about cried because how could you not? Its CHANEL. It was for her birthday that was in October and we waited until she got to see all the bags in person.  She ended up choosing the classic quilted black bag with gold hardware. It is a classic choice and the bags really hold their value over time. GO MOM! I believe when you work hard, you should get to enjoy the finer things in life, and her excitement almost made me cry.

 Ben Gioielli & Co. :

It’s not everyday your girl gets to wear 100 carat diamond necklace especially made for the sugar factory grand opening so yes- we needed to document it! The AMAZING photographer I worked with was really good friends with owner. We were able to come in and the staff chose some of their most expensive pieces for me to wear for the day. I wore an amazing ring that they said was larger than some celebrities ever get to wear, so yeah you could say I felt like a princess for the day. We were greeted with champagne AND I got to play with diamonds all day? I am pretty sure I can never go back to Vegas because no trip will ever top this!

Food:

Lavo:

Lavo is an Italian restaurant that is right on the strip and is owned by the creators of TAO. As you guys know I am HUGE on decor. I did some research, and they said their theme was inspired by Mediterranean bathhouses in Southern Italy. Okay quick side note- Vicki Gunvolisen from Real Housewives of Orange County was sitting at the counter when we walked in and my dad who HATES that show pointed her out. I’m like ALL this time you have been watching, and now we think he is a closet RHOC lover. Besides that excitement, the food was insane! If you go you have to try the meatball and only order one because that bad boy is made to split.  Our favorites from what everyone got was the spaghetti carbonara with pancetta, prosciutto, bacon, onions, and light cream sauce. We ended up getting the deep fried oreos to go and were perfect for late night munchies after a night out! On the weekend they have a huge party brunch and I would definitely want to go back for that. Our favorite cocktail was the Bubbles & Berries, which is Veuve Clicquot Champagne, St. Germain Belvedere Vodka, and Strawberries !

Carnevino:

This upscale steak house had a wine list that I would probably die over. We had these deadly orange cocktails and they pour them at the table to just be FANCY. They recommended to split all of the entries and just do family style because it was a lot of food. Kendall and myself split the ORECCHIETTE, which is a sweet sausage and broccoli rabe pasta and GNOCCHI gorgonzola, with figs, arugula and walnuts. Both were great and we started with the INSALATA CAPRESE with heirloom tomato and basil. One thing that really stood out was that they served bread with lardo, which is flavorful pork fat and I was not a huge fan! You still have to try it though!

 Nightlife:

Clubs:

We went to Drai's nightclub to see TY Dolla $ to start out out first night.! We loved the views from outside, but you know how it is- at some point we needed to move! So we to XS at the Wynn to end our night close to home. We ended up seeing the Chainsmokers, which was insane in itself! That was a huge bucket list concert that I wanted to go to, so I was pretty excited. The next night we went to see the Backstreet Boys and my childhood self cried inside. There were actually still girls crying over them and I am pretty sure they are all dads now/pushing late 40’s LOL. A friend of mine brought us backstage and we got to meet them. I of course, being the person I am, missed the one song I wanted to hear… typical. It the one that goes like “backstreet back alright” and has a lot of “yeahhhs” in it. Clearly I have a talent for remembering song lyrics and titles.

 Cocktails:

Parasol Down:

Parasol Down is a cocktail bar at the Wynn. To go downstairs, you ride a spiraling escalator down from its sister lounge, Parasol Up, and there are these beautiful multi colored parasols that hang above the bar. We all wanted a little sun so we headed outside to view a 40 ft waterfall that washed down a pine-topped mountain. The bar itself had a really relaxed vibe and I would highly recommend getting the pretzel bites. I mean it's buttered bread and stone ground mustard, can that ever be bad?

Rosina:

This was one of my favorite luxurious cocktail bars! The attention to detail in this bar was beautiful and had an art deco flair. The bar had intense shades of black, pearl, gold and rich burgundy that made me feel like we were apart of the Great Gatsby movie. They had huge crystal chandeliers that hung above the bar and had high-top tables with these huge burgundy velvet chairs. So naturally, I was in love with all of the glitz and glamour. The one in all of the bar pictures!

 Photography:

A special thank you to the lovely Stephanie Barrett. She spend the day with us girls and took the most amazing pictures! She needs some recognition because this super mom is not only an amazing photographer, but former Ms. Nevada, and a model. She was drop dead stunning and gave great direction during the shoot. She was so fun to work with and kept the mood light the entire time! I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs photographer in Vegas. SUCH A DOLL!

 Clothing:

I was able to wear this stunning lace jumpsuit from Blush Elegance! I wore a medium and it fit perfectly. It was super comfy to wear all day long and the deep V neckline brought some sex appeal, and there is also a partial lining for coverage! I was so excited to work with this company because they all have reasonably priced items, but they have pieces that so unique. For accessories, I paired the jumpsuit with a bright beaded cross-body from Mary Frances Accessories. I wanted something BOLD and this was exactly what I was looking for. It is the perfect bag for going out because it has magnetic closure and two small pockets that keep everything you need.

Hope my guide to all things Vegas helps all you cutie pies with your next trip! I would love to hear some of your favorite places to eat, drink, and shop when you are in Vegas!

XX,

KCM
